Brand Finance's brand ranking valuation method uses the "royalty saving method", which involves estimating the expected sales attributable to the brand and calculating the royalty rate for using the brand, which is the fee that the brand owner must pay for using the brand - assuming that the brand owner no longer owns the brand. The brand value numbers in the ranking list represent the potential value of a brand as an asset transfer. A company may have multiple brands, and enterprise value is the sum of all its brand related assets and revenue stream values.
